Cardiff Time - with both my lovelies

This weekend I went up to Cardiff to see Riona, as did Caitlin - so I was able to see them both at once which was lovely.

On Saturday 23 Aug, we hired a canadian canoe on the local Lisvane and Llanishen Reservoir.  It was nice to get out on the water for a paddle but the reservoir itself is basically just a big pond and there isn't much to do on it once you've done a lap or two.  But we'd booked for 90 minutes and stayed over an hour ambling around and getting rained on at the end.

Later on that day we pottered into Cardiff for a much needed coffee (for me) accompanied by our standard crossword.  Then it was a quick trip to Fabulous Welshcakes who sell gluten free cakes which makes me very happy.

I hadn't realised how riddled with shopping Arcades Cardiff was.  There are numerous alleys full of cute little shops.

On Sunday we hiked up Sugar Loaf.  It's not a major climb, as we had to get back so I could catch the train, but it was a lovely 2 hours out and about, with a bit of huffing and puffing to get up to the trig pillar, TP6423.

I love this shot of me and the top of the trig.  I hadn't realised I was stroking it, but they do need a little tlc.

Amazing views!

Lovely to spend time with these two cherubs.
